Case lid is designed to open more shallow than modern instrument cases. Horn has been play tested and works great!Ĭase functions as intended but does show wear in the exterior portions where portions of the tolex are worn off. Overall, the horn is in great shape with only minor plate wear present in the 1st valve casing (see photo #5) and minor micro-scratching over the years.
Previous owner had provided great care for this horn and it has recently underwent an extensive chem-cleaning and silver polishing as well as replacement felts in the valve buttons and valve stems.
This is presumed to be the case because the serial number (P22669C) would have a 'P' at the start to indicate this and referencing the Pan-American serial numbers lines up with the date range provided by horn-u-copia's date range of production for the Lyric models. According to information provided by and, this instrument was produced in the Pan-American factory in between the years of 1925-1929. For your consideration is a vintage Wurlitzer Bb cornet with original Wurlitzer hard case, vintage Wurlitzer "Valuable Hints" booklet & vintage "Guide to Harmony" booklet, lyre, cleaning rod, & Wurlitzer #7 mouthpiece, and an unmarked cornet mouthpiece included.
